Detailed information on Antique Primitive Ethnic Tribal 1890s Amber & Silver Ball Wire Necklace
Presented is a very primitive bold and chunky antique necklace of faceted and beaded silver balls and amber beads threaded over a silver chain closure. In this late 1800\'s piece, the silversmith made the ball forms of wood, and then covered the wood with silver, which he or she subsequently decorated with vertical pleats, facets or beads by hand. The condition of the necklace is pretty good. The necklace still shows well will its flaws turned inside. There are five dented silver balls and a couple with hairline cracks at the seams, still holding strongly. The amber beads are in good shape, with only two, the final beads at the clasp, having small chips. The spring loop clasp is modern, added after the original, and is in perfect shape. We have a matching bracelet in our store as well if you are interested in completing the look. Length: 6 1/2 inches Weight: 69 grams tm
