This needlepoint rug was handcrafted in Europe during the 20th century.
It features a pair of tigers lounging amongst tall grass and wildflowers. It is simple and straightforward yet still striking in its warmth and beauty. The tigers are impeccably executed and stand out against the open cream backdrop and are perfectly framed by three increasingly wider bands of red, black, and copper. The intitials \"HBK\" are rendered in the bottom right corner.
In very good condition with some very small holes on the front and some light staining on the backside.
