Our love and appreciation for the teas grown in the historic region of Uji in Kyoto runs deep!  The classic character of this fantastic, handpicked, competition-grade gyokuro is not loud or ostentatious, but delicate and sublime.  A tea that requires patience and time well spent learning about its alluring aroma, taste, and viscosity.  The aroma of the first brew is like the morning fog that rolls in over the Uji River; the taste is a perfect balance of umami and floral notes, and the liquid is reminiscent of thick kelp dashi.  Brewing this tea is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, savoring the moment while making tea and listening to the rainfall.
