This exquisite vintage Caucasian Shirvan wool rug showcases refined tribal craftsmanship with a beautifully balanced geometric design. The field is composed of repeating rosettes and stylised hooked motifs arranged in soft horizontal bands, creating a sense of rhythm and quiet movement typical of Shirvan weavings.
Its palette of warm terracotta, muted coral, dusty rose, camel, and deep brown has gently mellowed over time, giving the rug a rich, earthy patina. A classic Caucasian border with angular motifs frames the composition, adding structure and contrast. Naturally aged with subtle abrash and light wear, this rug offers timeless character and enduring beauty, making it an elegant addition to both traditional and modern interiors.
Authentic vintage and antique Caucasus rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.
Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.
Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. In addition, we advise using a rug pad with a grip back to keep your rug in position and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
Our rugs are professionally cleaned.
