- Omoto weaves their signature selvedge denim on Sakamoto shuttle looms dating back to the 1950s. A relic of old-world manufacturing, the Sakamoto loom uses a wooden shuttle operating at the lowest-possible tension, the machine yields a rugged texture unattainable through modern production methods. The jeans are woven using yarns spun with a careful combination of short-staple Memphis and long-staple Zimbabwe cotton fibers, a recipe developed through trial and error in combination with decades of experience in the denim industry. Dyed with pure indigo, the jeans feature a timeless blue tone that continues to fade and evolve with wear. Each pair is finished with an interior laundry tag, made to document the wearer’s journey- a testament to the brand’s slow-fashion philosophy.
