This is an antique carved veranda chair. A Ceylonese, solid teak ornate seat, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.

• Delightfully robust and solid teak with an impervious nature


• Finished with deep russet hues, accentuating the profusely carved stocks
  


• Three mystic figures adorn the crest rail, the middle figure sat prominently atop a shaped pediment


• Bold and upright frame with an ornate field panel to the back rest


• Panel hosts a trio of figures set amongst flowers and fruiting vines


• Foliate decor plentiful, with striking relief carvings abundant across each surface
  


• Seat edge hosts relief carved borders, with attractive flowerhead motif


• Fascinating shaped aprons adorn the seat edge, with foliate patera and sitting deity relief


• Standing upon prominent elephant front legs, canted and in the cabriole manner


• Square section rear legs adorned with pattern carvings below a decorative panelled rear
