This rug was handwoven by Malika, Zhara, Khatima, and Rokia in Anzal, a village located just north from the popular weaving town of Tazenakht.

Malika, Zhara, Khatima, and Rokia spent 6 weeks on this Hand-Knot x Zanafi area rug. Made from 100% live wool, this wool was dyed using a unique dyeing technique. Utilizing a blend of florals the women dyed this wool in bunches which allows for various sunny hues throughout the weave.

The combination of the Hand-Knot x Zanafi weaving technique is a living testament to the powerful history of this village. In Anzal the weaving tradition is nurtured by the woman passing the skills down from generation to generation.
