Inspiration Behind the Penelope Design: This bag design is a play on the original Eryn design and a reminder of the importance of finding balance in our lives. I grew up in a family business that is in the high-end cabinetry industry. The bamboo wooden handles on the Penelope are a tribute to my 30 years of working for the family business in my adult life as the CFO. Both the material and shape of the body of the Penelope bag, represent my journey in moving to an island and finding balance in my own life.

Inspiration Behind the Lining: I left my hometown of nearly 50 years for the Virgin Islands on a journey to “find myself again.” People use maps to chart their course; to re-route when they get off course and to guide them along their journey to the goal of their final destination. The Caribbean has become my happy place; it is where I’ve found freedom to be “me” and chart my own course again on this journey called “life.” The Ola Kala Lining is a reminder to look within; dream big; take risks and set your course for your journey to finding serenity.
