This rare Chanel flap bag hails from the pre-serial-number era — a period before the mid-1980s, when Chanel bags were crafted without date codes and authenticity was defined solely by craftsmanship, materials, and iconic design details.

At that time, a certain Karl Lagerfeld was already at the helm, breathing new life into the fashion house. Pieces from this era are especially coveted today, as they are exceptionally rare and carry the unmistakable charm of “Old Chanel.”

Crafted from deep bordeaux-red fabric in the classic matelassé quilting, this bag embodies the elegance of early Chanel. It features a beautiful gold CC button on the front flap and a gold-tone shoulder chain, both signature elements of Chanel’s vintage aesthetic. Along the edges, the bag is finished with black genuine leather piping, adding structure and a luxurious contrast to the rich fabric.

The interior has been partially renewed with genuine lambskin leather, giving the bag a refreshed usability while preserving its vintage authenticity. One side shows very minor adhesive marks from a previous owner\'s repair attempt - hardly noticeable, yet noted for complete transparency from our side.
