This is the Buddhist’s Silk. Our silk worms are fed mulberry leaves and thrive whereas more often they meet a dreadful fate in mass market production. 

Peace silk, also known as “Ahimsa Silk”, (a Sanskrit word meaning \"non-violence”) is a cruelty-free alternative to standard traditional silk production which requires them be killed in their cocoons, usually by boiling. Our silkworms are allowed to complete their life cycle and emerge from the cocoon as a moth before the silk is harvested. We sought them out upon reading about mulberry silk  

The fibers of peace silk are spun rather than reeled, a more labor-intensive process that requires specialized skills. This results in a fabric with a more subtle and lustrous sheen (very elegant) than traditional shiny silk with all of the benefits of natural silk, such as breathability and temperature regulation. 

Peace silk is often produced in rural areas, supporting local artisans and communities. As you may be aware, our hair won’t tangle and our sleep wrinkles are discouraged while sleeping on silk.
