Symbolic references to the bee- historically associated with virtues such as sweetness, purity, and wisdom- permeate its creation. From a popular motif in Greek art to an icon in Babylonian, Egyptian, French, and Italian cultures, the bee represents royalty and imparts lessons of collaboration and teamwork.

Officine904 is a creative atelier founded in Tuscany. As part of the atelier, INSECTARIUM was born as an artistic jewelry project that pays tribute to the world of insects: creatures often overlooked, yet vital to the balance of nature. Each specimen is faithfully recreated in its morphological and chromatic details.

All pieces in the collection are handcrafted in Tuscany using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting, followed by meticulous finishing, chiseling, and enameling. The enamels are applied by hand, one brushstroke at a time, layer upon layer, to capture the iridescence and vividness of real insects.
