Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Art Deco black grosgrain bracelet or armband, featuring several solid 9ct gold fittings by various Australian jewellers, c-1923. The star of the bracelet is the triangular emblem of the Sons of Temperance bearing the words Love Purity Fidelity, presented from S.K to E.C and made by E.G Stott of Geelong. The emblem hangs from a framed map of Australia with chained T-bar fob by Larard Brothers (Melbourne), with vacant shields either side of this by Aronson & Co (Melbourne) and terminating in gold fittings with gold dog clips. Condition is good overall, with no major damage to note. The Albert clasps are a matched set, but are of similar style and design. The twin shields feature loops at the bases for the addition of further fobs or embellishments. The grosgrain is in very good order with no rips or tears. A wonderful historical bracelet with gold fittings from some of the best Victorian jewellers of the time.
The grosgrain measures 20mm wide, with the bracelet having an overall length of 21cm (8\"). Unpacked, it weighs in at a very respectable 16.58gms, with the grosgrain estimated to account for around 1.70gms of this based on comparable material.
