I was high for 2 days after drinking this tea- full body sensations reverberating into the next day.

Organic ecstacy. Intensely flavorful and aromatic.

Laocong shuixian from huiyuan keng. Traditional riper style that is seldom made with good material these days. (Also means can age well). Good backbone from strong minerality in the soil. When high roast, the minerality is best expressed resulting in a long lingering mineral finish. Made without use of fertiliser is also rare these days. It shows in the deep herbal medicinal flavors which is not from age, but due to the tea plant being around other herbal plants in a foresty environment. (If made with fertiliser, this flavor/effect will be diluted). Also has a slight “keng (valley)” kind of character from a slightly tight environment. This adds another layer of complexity. (If it was from a more open environment, it will taste more direct and straightforward). Leaves are hervested in what i consider to be the ideal picking standard. Medium-small size. So the dry leaves is dense and weighty, as opposed to many shuixian that is harvested when the leaves are bigger. So the flavor is more intense, but completely thick and smooth coz of the age of the trees and coz it’s not pruned. Can be extreme stressed, even boiling the leaves will not bring about any astringency. Rare to get this combination of heaven man and earth -weather, untouched old plants, harvesting standard, making skill and roasting level these days.
