Our 100% unblended Uji Hikari matcha is one of our most premium offerings. It is grown by our trusted partner, a 6th-generation award-winning tea farmer, near the Uji River in Gokasho, Uji, Kyoto.
It is made from first-flush tea leaves of the Uji Hikari cultivar. The tea leaves are shaded for over 40 days before harvest and carefully handpicked once a year in the Spring. Traditionally stone ground to perfection, this matcha is fresh and offers a complex symphony of flavors. We recommend this grade of matcha for traditional Usucha and Koicha preparation.
