Detailed information on Sitaara | Indigo - Plant Dyed Kantha Cushion

Plant dyed cotton cushion covers, hand stitched by women from a small village in West Bengal, India.

We worked with a third generation dye house to stain these beauties using plant and flowers.

- The stunning blue shade was achieved using pure indigo.

- Yellow was created using marigold petals.

- The green was achieved by dying the fabric yellow with marigold flowers, then topped up with indigo to create this beautiful shade.

- Saffron colour is a result of using madder root.

All cushions are finished with a hidden zip and filled with premium British wool.

Love and Care: Wash by hand in cold water my immersing. Suitable for quick machine wash. Do not place or dry in direct sunlight. Do not use bleach, harsh detergents or high heat.

As this is a hand made product, there may be slight colour and size variations. Plant dye will fade over time, intensity can be prolonged with proper care.
