This is a brand new product just released by Suehiro in Q4 2020, specifically designed for surface flattening of whetstones. Up to now the gold standard for flattening stones is the Atoma Diamond Plate, which is probably still the best option but it\'s fairly costly to acquire both an Atoma #140 and a #600. This HW5G DADA combo diamond stone solves the problem by providing a solution specifically designed for whetstone flattening while lowering the overall cost. Made with double-sided #150/#500 electrodeposited diamond, the super-strong surface restores dented whetstone surface immediately.
The HW5G is capable of quick surface restoration for coarse and fine finishing whetstones, even hard ones such as non-absorbent Gokumyo, Kouseki, DEBADO series or ones that easily get clogged. Use the coarse #150 Diamond side to flatten the whetstone surface quickly. Then, polish with the #500 Diamond side to get an ideal whetstone surface instantly.
This product can also be used for sharpening super hard blades by applying oil to the diamond stone surface.
Made in Japan
Apply water to the whetstone. Use the coarse #150 Diamond side to flatten the whetstone surface quickly. Then, polish with the #500 Diamond side to get an ideal whetstone surface instantly.
Please use the attached opener to switch the #150 and #500 sides of the body plate. Slide and detach the opener from the side of the case. Insert the opener between the white body plate and the clear holder case and lever up. Turn over the body plate and attach to the case.
After use, please make sure to remove as much debris from the whetstone, and wipe dry with cloth. Discoloration on diamond surface is normal, due to heat build-up during use. This will not damage the integrity of the product.
