This butterfly necklace was a little bit inspired by 70s style and features a recycled acrylic made from purple, greenish teal and blue different coloured offcuts with iridescent flakes running through it. The rest of the design features a customised iridescent acrylic, a varied purple/pink/blue acrylic, teal mirror, blue and black plain Perspex as well as a deep blue acrylic all backed onto 2mm white acrylic. Pieces that use recycled acrylic may be more limited in numbers than my usual range.

The design measures approximately 70(h)mm x 127mm(w) and hangs from a stainless steel chain which measures approximately 39cm with an extender chain measuring 7cm There will be variation in the recycled acrylic; no two will look exactly the same and the iridescent acrylic can look slightly different between each piece too. All work is solely done by Rock The Panda designer and maker Ruth Anna Moore in Sheffield, United Kingdom.The necklace has the Rock The Panda logo and year made engraved on the back and comes in it\'s own box. All Rock The Panda designs will be limited. They won\'t ever be mass produced.

About the recycled acrylic - 

I\'ve kept all my acrylic offcuts since I started Rock The Panda back in 2018 as I knew that one day there would be a way to use them. That day has come! I\'m now able to recycle acrylic into new sheets with heat, pressure, time and care. It\'s very exciting and means that my little business has become a lot more environmentally friendly.

Each new small sheet takes a long time to make; I can only really make 1 (about a 18cm square surface) sheet a day and they require a lot of attention to ensure that the result is properly fused together. It is a process I experimented with for a few weeks prior to getting a usable sheet!

Although a machine is involved in the making of the recycled acrylic and the new type is very similar looking to regular non recycled acrylic please bear in mind that there may be tiny surface marks, little dimples, varying thicknesses and occasionally raised areas around thin sections of the design (this doesn\'t happen often though).Important Info -

Due to my works handmade nature and the fact that some of the acrylic sheet is handmade itself, there will be slight differences in each piece and may be minor imperfections.Stainless steel is very resilient to tarnish but it may darken slightly over time.Acrylic can be quite delicate. Handle with care, clean with a soft microfibre cloth and keep your brooch/necklace in the box provided when not being worn. Each piece is water resistant but not waterproof. Please don\'t immerse in water.

Safety Information -

Rock The Panda jewellery is not a toy. Please keep out of reach of children under 3 years old due to small parts and a potential choking hazard. Chains on necklaces may be a strangulation hazard, particularly if they get entangled or caught on other objects. Wear with care. Brooch pins may cause pricking injury if mishandled. Handle with care, keep them pinned to the foam pad provided or on clothes when worn. If the acrylic of a product is broken from eg. dropping, sharp edges may occur and may cause injury such as cuts and scratches if mishandled whilst loose pieces may be a choking hazard.

Rock The Panda jewellery is also not suitable for children under 12 years old.
