Primitive Gout Footstool Early 19Th CenturyPrimitive rocker gout footstool, hard wood, deep color. I\'m not sure if it is a stain or the wood color. The footstool was hand carved and has mortise and tenon joints. The rockers were attached with a nail as shown in the photo.This footstool is commonly calleda gout stool, designed to ease thediscomfort of sufferers. Purchased at an estate sale.
