In 1896, the button-down shirt was first commercialized in the United States. It soon became popular among Ivy League students on the East Coast, becoming an iconic item of Ivy style.FAR EAST MANUFACTURING faithfully recreates the details of classic shirts sold in the 1970s while incorporating modern tailoring. Notably, these shirts offer four different sleeve lengths for each neck size. By minimizing the use of interlining, the shirts achieve a balance between structure and comfort.These shirts, made using a dedicated Union Special sewing machine, are a proud product of Japanese craftsmanship.

The name FAR EAST MANUFACTURING is derived from Europe’s recognition of Japan\'s manufacturing prowess. The brand embodies the vision of “bringing high-quality manufacturing from the Far East of Japan to the world,” a concept that is steadily becoming a reality.

To ensure that each wearer can choose the perfect fit, four sleeve length options are available for each neck size.Inspired by vintage shirts, the cuff design is easy to roll up, and the interlining in the cuffs and collar has been removed to create a beautiful S-shaped roll at the collar.The narrow roll seam running from the underarm to the side mimics the meticulous roll seam craftsmanship of vintage shirts, creating a unique fullness and puckering.The chain stitch on the inside of the placket is sewn using a Union Special machine specifically designed for shirts. Over time and with washing, the shirt develops an increasingly rich texture.
