Curator\'s Notes 

Yonabe in Japanese translates to mean “Western”. The pot is designed for cooking what the Japanese considers Western-style meals. For example, it can be used to cook a casserole in the oven, or to slow-cook a stew on the stovetop. It is a very versatile cooking pot but we also like it because after you cook you can insert the wooden handle for easy transportation to the dinner table and serve food right from the pot!

• Hand washing is recommended


• Can be used in the oven or on a gas or induction stovetop


• Pot has a removable wood handle that should not be used while cooking in the oven. The handle is used to transport the pot.


• Recommended to wash pan in hot water after each use and dry the pan completely


• Avoid splashing cold water onto a hot pan to prevent warping over time


• Never submerge in water for long periods of time


• Wooden cooking utensils are recommended to prevent scratching
