A blanket made entirely in America - from the grass the sheep graze on, to the Oregon farm where the Merino is raised, to the mill where it\'s spun and woven, to the hands that finish the final overlock stitch.
Shepherd\'s Dream has been making natural wool bedding in Northern California since 1984. The Wool Blanket is built from Merino raised by Shaniko Wool Company in Oregon, a fiber so fine it\'s soft enough for a newborn and warm enough to replace a duvet. It\'s undyed and grown, spun, and woven without harmful chemicals.
Wool is naturally thermoregulating. It keeps you warm in winter by trapping air close to the body, and cool in summer by wicking moisture away from the skin before it can make you sweat. You don\'t have to choose the right season to use this blanket - it works year-round because the fiber itself is designed that way.
This is made to order for each customer. Not mass-produced, not warehoused. Allow 2-3 weeks for production before shipping.
Benefits:
100% USA grown and sewn — sheep raised, wool spun, and blanket finished entirely in America
• Naturally thermoregulating — warm in winter, breathable and cool in summer
• Undyed and chemical-free — no toxins, no synthetic treatments, nothing added
• Responsible Wool Standard certified and Nativa Regen certified — traceable from farm to finished product
• Soft enough for newborns, durable enough to last decades — true heirloom quality
• Made to order in small batches — not mass produced
Care:
Wool is naturally odor-resistant and self-cleaning — it does not need washing as often as other textiles.
Air it out: hang in fresh air or morning sunshine for a few hours to refresh between washes.
Spot clean: treat small marks with a mild wool-safe detergent (Eucalan works well) and cold water.
Hand wash only if needed: use cold water and a wool-safe soap. Rinse gently without wringing.
Never machine dry. Lay flat to air dry away from direct heat.
Note: wool is a natural fiber with inherent variation. Some pilling or minor shrinkage may occur with washing — this is normal and does not affect performance.
