Astier de Villatte’s Alger candle is inspired by the ancient North African capital with Parisian overtones and is bold in style.

Whitewashed Haussmann façades and Persian blinds, in a weathered blue, glow beneath an unrelenting sun. Beneath the arcades, in pockets of shade, the air grows heady with white campion, privet blossom, wild jasmine and bitter orange.

There is something both elegant and untamed in it — floral, citrus-lit, and faintly sharpened by an acidic twist and the unexpected warmth of chilli. It feels like a memory carried on hot air: bright, restless, intoxicating.
