Now, it is believed to remove worldly desires and grant wisdom. It makes a crunchy sound when swung like a real shakujo, making it a recommended gift or talisman. Its long, non-slip wooden shaft makes it easy to keep thick hair in place. It pairs well with Western clothing, kimonos, and yukatas.
