HOT ! Uruguay Amethyst Crystal and Sterling Necklace

This natural Amethyst Crystal is a unique cut through the crystal to form this fun piece which measures 20 x 24 mm.  The crystals are intact as they were found in nature.  They are clear and tinged with purple on  the tips.  The center is like a core of grayish purple and black.   It is complemented by the sterling silver setting and chain.  

Uruguay is famous for their Amethyst gemstones and is considered a leading amethyst source for the world. 

In antiquity amethyst was very valuable and used on crowns, scepters and jewelry.  The Egyptian Pharaohs gave amethyst to reward court members for good deeds.  In the Bible, Exodus 28:19 lists amethyst as the third stone in the third row of the high priest\'s breastplate which represented the tribe of Issachar.  The Bible also mentions in Revelation 21:20 that amethyst is the final stone in the foundation of the New Jerusalem.  

Amethyst is the February birthstone and the sixth wedding anniversary gemstone.
