This exquisite Yunt Mountain kilim, originating from Manisa, Turkey, is a fine example of traditional Turkish weaving. Crafted using the meticulous cicim technique, this handwoven piece boasts an extraordinary level of artistry and texture.

Cicim weaving is distinct from standard kilim techniques, featuring patterns that appear raised or embroidered on the surface. This is achieved by incorporating a third thread, in addition to the base warp and weft threads, to create decorative motifs. The base threads are typically uniform in color and thickness, while the decorative threads introduce contrast and depth. Sheep wool is the primary material, though goat hair may occasionally be used for added texture and durability.
