Pursuing efficient, streamlined structure and functionality Designer Johann Beckmark was the last of the fourth-generation heads of planning and design, serving in the position for nine years, the longest of any of his predecessors. During the latter part of Beckmark\'s tenure at FDB Möbler, Danish furniture was becoming popular, especially in the United States, and Beckmark, with an eye toward export, often developed stick-shaped, inexpensive chairs that were small and easy to pack and assemble. His signature piece is the J108, but he also developed the J80 and J81 in a completely different direction to the assembled furniture intended for export.

Jørgen Bækmark (1919 - In 1958, he became the fourth president of FDB Møbler.
